Chicago-based experimental producer/rapper James King aka The GTW has got one of the smoothest sounds I’ve ever come across; naturally, I’ve immediately become a fan. This severely under appreciated artist caught my attention with the electronic, ambient stylings of ‘LSD’ but after a quick examination of his Soundcloud (full of free music), I’ve found that The GTW has immense and diverse talent. He easily swaps between rapping (check ‘Halfway Freaks’), singing (‘August’) and producing (‘Wave’) while excelling at them all and bringing a fresh sound to everything he touches. Superb.
